The Secret to Blogging
So, I used to think that blogging had to be something official.
You know…minimum of 1,000 words, educational content that supports your business theme, and excellent SEO. And, in some ways, I suppose that’s still true.
But, I’ve come to realize that by setting myself all those standards, I haven’t written a thing. Personally, I’m an all-or-nothing kind of person, so I set this mighty high standard that I couldn’t reach and just quit writing on my website.
But, the past year and a half has taught me a lot. In the midst of it all, I took a break. Now I’m back with a fresh perspective, and I’ve decided to switch gears. I’m just going to write. I’ll post things to my blog. I won’t stress out about the little red or green or yellow box in the right hand corner of my WordPress screen that is telling me the SEO isn’t good enough.
Because at the end of the day, that’s not authentic. It’s not who I am or how I write. Funny enough, it’s not even how I encourage other people to write! But, for whatever reason, I do it to myself.
So, moving forward, I’m just going to write. You could see all sorts of different types of content on this website. Or maybe it will be very much the same. I have no idea. One thing I will tell you is that it will be all me—no ChatGPT for this girl! My blog will be filled with things I want to share, and that’s just going to have to be good enough.
Perhaps, in the process, I will discover that the secret to blogging is simply this: just write.
